What we see most in Aurora
Common oven or stove problems we fix
Oven will not heat
A failed bake element is the common one on electric; on gas it is the igniter, which weakens for weeks before it stops opening the valve at all.
Everything bakes too hot or too pale
The oven sensor or thermostat has drifted. We measure the real cavity temperature rather than trusting the display, then calibrate or replace.
Gas burner clicks but will not light
A dirty or cracked igniter, a burner cap sitting off-centre, or moisture in the switch. If it lights with a lag and a whump, stop using it and call — that is a delayed ignition.
One element or induction zone is dead
An element, an infinite switch, or on induction a failed power module. We test the zone before ordering anything.
Display, touch panel or clock has failed
Control board or membrane. Some are repairable, some are not, and we tell you which before you spend money.
Door will not close or lock, or the self-clean will not run
Hinges, the door switch, or the lock motor that self-clean depends on.
No surprises
How a service call works
1. You call or book online
Tell us the brand and what it is doing. It takes about a minute, and a person picks up between 8AM and 10PM, seven days.
2. We give you a window
Same day where the schedule allows, otherwise the next one. We call before we set off so you are not sitting home guessing.
3. Diagnosis, then a price
The technician finds the actual fault and quotes the repair before opening anything. The $89 diagnostic comes off that price.
4. Fixed, usually on the first visit
Common ovens and stoves parts ride in the van. If a part has to be ordered we tell you the wait up front, and the work is covered by warranty.

Aurora Village to Bathurst
Old kitchens, built-in ovens and pro ranges
Aurora runs from century homes around the Village to estate builds along Bathurst, and the oven work splits the same way.
In the older houses the range is often the newest thing in the kitchen and the wiring behind it is not. A forty-year-old range receptacle, a three-wire connection where the appliance expects four, an old shutoff on the gas line. Those are what turn a straightforward element change into a longer visit. We are a TSSA-certified gas contractor, so the gas side is ours to deal with rather than something we have to hand off to somebody else.
In the larger and newer homes it is usually a wall oven or a pro-style range instead. A wall oven is built into cabinetry, and getting it out without marking the surround is most of the job. We would rather spend the extra twenty minutes than leave you with a working oven and a scratched cabinet.
The faults themselves do not change much either way. An element burnt through, an igniter that glows but never lights the gas, a door that will not seal because the hinges have sagged, or an oven running sixty degrees off what the dial says. That last one is a sensor, and it is a small part.
Aurora sits at the south end of our area, so we book it as a window rather than promising you a time we cannot keep.

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair gas ranges and built-in wall ovens?
Yes. AppFix is a TSSA-certified gas contractor, so we can safely diagnose and repair gas ranges and built-in ovens as well as electric.
Should I keep using a burner that lights late?
No. A delayed ignition means gas collects before it lights. Turn it off, keep the range unused and call us.
Do you work on induction and ceramic cooktops?
Yes, including glass-top ranges and separate cooktops.
What does it cost?
Diagnostic from $89, credited toward the repair. You get the price before any work starts, and the first repair with AppFix is $35 off.
Can you come the same day?
Often, especially in the morning. Aurora is at the south end of our area, so we give you a window rather than promise a time we cannot keep. Open 8AM–10PM, seven days a week.
